TOSG55 (75), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA Aug 14, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear copper color, with a very thin head. Excellent aroma of hops and malt. The flavor is very nice - floral, citrusy hops are balanced nicely with a malt that is assertive but not overwhelming. The 9.1% ABV is nicely hidden. A very nice double IPA. mybestfriend (261), Gothenburg, Sweden Aug 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber colour with an off-white head. The aroma is hoppy with notes of citrus fruit, resin, pine needles and tropical fruits (pineapple). The flavour is filled to the rim with american hops - citrus and tropical fruits, resin and some pine needleon top. There is also some (malty) sweetness. You cannot feel the alcohol content. The finish is salty, hoppy and bitter. Nice! Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Aug 11, 2008 On tap at Barley’s Brewhaus in Shawnee, KS. Pours a hazy amber-gold with a creamy, beige head and nice lacing. The nose is big and malty with piny and citric hops in support. Medium-bodied and creamy smooth with a dry, tongue-squeezing bitter finish. Round pale malt with a big hit of the hops quickly following: piny, resinous and lightly citric with a dry, bitter finish. This is a solid beer, but it’s far from being among my favorite IIPAs. Perhaps I’ll have to snag a fresh bomber soon to see if the keg this came from was a bit long-in-the-tooth. Joakgust (320), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 11, 2008 Bottle, 355ml - A rather clear orange-amber colored beer with a nice large beige head. Very sweet aroma with strong hints of caramel and tropical fruits; mainly pineapple and sweet peaches. Big hoppy nose. Flavor is well hoppy and dry. Some sweetness can be found although most of it is overpowered by the hoppiness. Notes of wood and some smokiness is apparent. Very different beer. Suppose this one falls under the category "hopmonster"... Veer (355), Landskrona, Sweden Aug 10, 2008 Aroma: heavy malty honey, decadent. Fresh, pineapple hop-profile... Slightly sappy. Slightly of alcohol, coconut, shampoo or soap... Vaguely flowery. More malty than typical.
Flavour: bitter, milky & sappy, mellow & slightly sweet malts... Hop bitterness that lasts througout the finish.
Palate: fluffy, milky, really delicious...
Appearance: (real) amber body w/ very weird yellowish, bubbly head... looks like something one should drink on a summery day in a mountain forest. stouby (1931), Holbaek, Denmark Aug 4, 2008 Draught at Nørrebro Bryghus.
Light hazy, orange with alarge off white head. Aroma moderate malty (caramel), heavy hoppy (grassy). Flavor moderate sweet, heavy bitter, lots of alcohol. Full body. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Aug 3, 2008 Bottle at the White Horse, 12th July 2008 with renffisch. Pours a cloudy russet colour with a lacy head. Great aroma of grassy hops, marzipan and brown sugar. Tastes superb - hops and malt in harmony. The alcohol is pretty evident and the palate is rich and smooth like an English barley wine. A very drinkable strong beer. larsniclas (3383), Gothenburg, Sweden Aug 2, 2008 Bottled.
Deep copper with a medium, off-white head.
Floral, grassy, nutty, hoppy seet aroma.
Thick and oily palate.
Sweet flavour with bitter licorice. Very seet and fruity with a pretty bitter end.
