Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottle from total wine. Amber pour wtih a pretty nice head. Aroma is citrus and herbal hops. Flavor is pretty bitter and hoppy. For me it could have used a tad more malt, but it was still a good as hell IIPA.

This one through me for a loop from start to finish. Pours the most gorgeous cloudy burnt orange with a supple white head. No citrus acidity, no crispness, no hop bang associated with the style. A whole lot of creamy 2% milk viscosity all the way through the temp. range. Strong malty profile is undeniable with a greatly understated (for the style) hoppiness in the background. Big change from what I’m used to from DIPA’s. Awesome effort, very enjoyable for the entire 22oz.. 2008 edition.

Too bitter for me. I didn’t enjoy the aftertaste. Bottle. Poured burnished copper with thick lasting head. Much lacing. Fresh pine, floral and citrus notes in the hop.

[1603-20080816] 355mL bottle. Hoppy citrus peel grains and a bit of evergreen in the aroma. Slightly hazy, light orange brown body with a quick white foam. Hoppy bitter evergreen hops flavour. Medium body is boozy. Good.

(USA) Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo !! Pours a lite orange color with a med white head. There is a very strong aroma of amarillo, and citrus. The taste is of grapefruit big time with a hint of caramel. The mouthfeel is bitter but at the same time very pleasant. The 9.1% is concealed very well here. This IPA is recommended !!

Hazy orange-amber body topped by wispy white head. Smells strongly of my favorite hop, Amarillo, big grapefruit, citrus smell. Taste is much the same, fresh and juicy, some caramel and alcohol warmth are also noted. Smooth lasting bitterness accompanies the flavor. Great stuff.

Hazy orange with a great looking head that leaves impressive lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops with a well rounded taste, great mouthfeel, and finish that is pure flavor without the bitterness. Great beer!
