mesperon (133), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA Jul 25, 2008 Deep dark amber, head is nice but disappears quickly, lots of sedimant. Arome is great, floral and hoppy with a strong taste of sweet and tart apricot. Taste is all on the back end. It starts ith just a bit of bite, fairly carbonated feel, not much on the tongue. Flavor comes in like a landside on the finish, almost like an aftershock. Very very floral and hoppy sweet apricot and herbal and pine flavor. Very warming onthe way down like a shot of Jameson. 9.1 abv is definitelythere, but doesn’t kill the flavor. 83 IBU’s are definitely there, but are not at all offensive. Great taste. Buzz comes on strong on n empty stomach. 7/25/08 Furseth (1328), Kungälv, Sweden Jul 23, 2008 Bottle:Bottled. Big thanks to Tomas & Magnus.Clear red colour, flat head. Aroma of fruitsflowery citrus. Flavor was fruity, citrus mouth feeling, medium body, and medium to long fruity/citrus, nice maltty/alcy finish cellar (483), Dublin, Ireland Jul 21, 2008 Pours cloudy dark amber with little head. Notes of hops grapefruti, some wood and spices. Very bitter and long bitter finish. Ceebs25 (217), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jul 18, 2008 Updated: Jan 10, 20091 pint, 6 fl oz bottle. Lots of piny, herbal hops, some citrus lemon, also some sweeter earthy and caramel malt tones in the aroma. Pours very nice medium-small soft and creamy white head, mostly dissipates, pretty good lacing, pumpkin orange color, minor carbonation, fairly opaque, no particulate. Flavor is big, but pretty straightforward and well balanced despite the huge piny hop presence throughout, a toasty caramel malt does show through, i also get some melon fruit in there somewhere, long lasting heavy clinging bitter finish/aftertaste is nice but not outstanding, slight bite in the beginning, medium mouthfeel. Overall, this beer is just really really solid, well made. CurlyBill (9), Ooltewah, Tennessee, USA does not count Jul 17, 2008 22 oz. bomber. Pours amber with a head that lasts. Had a strong piney/citrus hop aroma. Flavor hit me with some caramel followed by huge hop bitterness on the end. A well balanced beer that is very enjoyable and hides the 9% alcohol pretty well. Overall an excelent DIPA. smetrick (18), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2008 22 oz bottle. Unctuous pour with a persistent medium white head. Gorgeous color and clarity. Great nose, a little softer on the palate would have made this perfect. A little too medicinal for my taste. Lots of alcohol- beware. AndyReynolds (280), Wilder, Kentucky, USA Jul 14, 2008 Pours a light copper orange with a thick white head. The aroma was citrusy, with a little carmel, and strong hops. The flavor was citrusy with a nutty hint to it. It was also very hoppy, a plus for me. The feel was very smooth with a bitter finish. A great IPA. stefanje (937), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Jul 12, 2008 650 ml bomber from Zinister. Pours a translucent copper color with a big sudsy white head that leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is that of a classic IPA with plenty of citrus, pine and caramel. The flavor, like the aroma, is rich with pine, citrus and caramel, but its the hops that dominate with a good biter bite. The mouthfeel is full, smooth and malty. The finish is long and biter-sweet. Overall: This is one of the finest IPA’s on this planet, it exceeded my expectations by a long shot.. I love it. Thanks Zin, after a hard day at work this is great beer to come home to.
