Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

A- Pours a reddish orange hue with a huge, thick, 2.5 finger head that seems to stay for quite a while leaving lacing galore. S- Smells sweet, piney hops dominate followed by citrusy notes. T- Thick earthy with hints of grapefruit and some pine. Bitter with the alcohol a bit to apparent. M- Thick and clings a bit to the mouth. Very carbonated. D- Not anywhere near the most drinkable dipa i’ve ever had. The alcohol is a bit too apparent and the bitterness is a bit intense in that it isnt balanced as well as i would have hoped. Aside from the criticism, I really enjoyed this brew.

Pours hazy honey colored with a medium head. Lacing apears after first sip. Nose is full of fruit and very impressive. Nice hop bitterness but lacks the sweetness I typically associate with double IPA’s. Needs more malt backbone but still a tasty brew.

This beer is a wonderful, slightly red, copper color. You can smell everything that went into making this fine brew. (Although I haven’t learned to identify everything yet.) A little bitter, but still one of the tastiest beers I’ve ever had.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours deep golden orange with a lacing off-white head. Pineapple and caramel malt aroma, light citrusy note. Flavour is fruity with light peach and pineapple notes, dry wooden touch and a breadish malt base. Dry bitter and yet light sweet fruity finish. Goes really dry in the far finish.

Poured into a pint glass. Translucent amber color with a bubbly beige one-finger head. Tons of lacing and decent retention. Aroma is of fresh-cut pineapple and rich caramel. Flavor is initially sweet with caramel, but then hops trample the palate, citrusy and grassy with a lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is just about all you can ask for in a double IPA: rich but not too sticky, no alcohol taste. Pretty drinkable for 9.1%

Off white medium lasting head. Dark amber-copper colour. Aroma is malty, fruity (peaches and apricots) with strong floral notes and light wooden accent. Flavor is malty with fruity and light caramel and nutty tones, ending in a dry wooden finish. Medium bodied.
