A- Pours a reddish orange hue with a huge, thick, 2.5 finger head that seems to stay for quite a while leaving lacing galore.
S- Smells sweet, piney hops dominate followed by citrusy notes.
T- Thick earthy with hints of grapefruit and some pine. Bitter with the alcohol a bit to apparent.
M- Thick and clings a bit to the mouth. Very carbonated.
D- Not anywhere near the most drinkable dipa i’ve ever had. The alcohol is a bit too apparent and the bitterness is a bit intense in that it isnt balanced as well as i would have hoped. Aside from the criticism, I really enjoyed this brew. KimJohansen (6909), Copenhagen V, Denmark

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Pours hazy honey colored with a medium head. Lacing apears after first sip. Nose is full of fruit and very impressive. Nice hop bitterness but lacks the sweetness I typically associate with double IPA’s. Needs more malt backbone but still a tasty brew. You can smell everything that went into making this fine brew. (Although I haven’t learned to identify everything yet.) A little bitter, but still one of the tastiest beers I’ve ever had. yespr (12018), Copenhagen O, Denmark

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Poured into a pint glass. Translucent amber color with a bubbly beige one-finger head. Tons of lacing and decent retention.
Aroma is of fresh-cut pineapple and rich caramel.
Flavor is initially sweet with caramel, but then hops trample the palate, citrusy and grassy with a lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel is just about all you can ask for in a double IPA: rich but not too sticky, no alcohol taste. Pretty drinkable for 9.1% jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA
