sfontain (500), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jan 21, 2006 Small sample at beer tasting at From The Vine in Lewis Center, Ohio. Amber-orange color; creamy eggshell head. Aroma is hops (!) and pine and citrus. Flavor is hops (! again) with alcohol that is both warm and present in the subsequent exhale. Medium body; clean. Too much hoppiness for me.
Dorqui (1289), Brescia, Italy Oct 10, 2008 Draught at "Italia Beer Festival 2008" - Brescia.
Dark red color, nearly brown. Optimal aroma, powerful and decided with balsamic notes of flowers, blows, red wine, stum. Much alcoholic and solid taste. Homogenous, mellow, long-lasting and aromatic. smag4life (16), Groton, Connecticut, USA Oct 9, 2008 Man, I love the smell of hops. Nice orangy copperish color, very pleasing to the eye. Poured with a decent off white head that left a lot of lacing on the glass. Very bitter, as the label says. All 85 of the IBUs alluded to on the label are there. Citruisy flavor from the loads of finishing hops I’m sure they used. Overall, a great beer. but not an every day drinker. lithy (206), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 8, 2008 Very clear light copper orange body and a creamy finger of off white head. Aroma of grapefruit citrusy hops and some caramel maltiness. Nice body seems deceptively light on malt and doesn’t let on to the punishing onslaught of hops in the finish. Bitter, citrusy, very potent with a lasting presence on the tongue. Rivals DFH 90 min for me. bconley (40), Fern Park, Florida, USA Oct 6, 2008 This one was very hoppy.. A little too much for my taste. Pretty good though. Smelled very floral and evergreen. Again...taste was very hoppy, but the citrus was really nice. I’d have this again. brokephibroke (52), , Colorado, USA Oct 4, 2008 Muted copper pour with a thick off tan stable head. Hops, grapefruit, caramel corn and coriander aroma, very complex. I can taste the malt and hops. Upfront maltiness with a bit of chocolate, long citrus hop finish. Palate is a bit weak as no coating or thickening is noticed.
