Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottle. @ Copenhagen Øl Festival. Average fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Hazy amber color. Huge aroma of pine, grapefruit, elderflower and pineapple. Some malty notes like caramel and liquorish could also be felt. Full bodied with an average carbonation and a dry and light warming alcoholic texture. Heavy bitter notes with some well balanced sweet liquorish. Nice very dry and bitter finish. Wow

Had this at a nearby taproom after visiting the brewery. This is a HUGE beer with a skyscraper of a rocky head. This is big and chewy, makes you pucker, and is only for the staunchest hop lovers. I prefer their Titan IPA, but if you’re in the mood for the monsters, this is right up there.

Bottle. The Herc! This is one serious ipa, blows you away with pine, citrus, and hop resin. Huge malty backbone with a solid warming. A hop heads dream come true.

Bottel at Ølbaren - shared with sk8viking. Very hoppy and malty, pine, citrus hoppy. Sweet malty, but not as sweet as Avery Marharaja. Very nice and strong hoppy.

(Bottled@Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Clear amber color with a large, foamy and lacy, tanned head. Fruity-hoppy, lemony aroma with some sugar, not very strong. Woody-hoppy, fruity flavor with a long very bitter aftertaste. Not quite enough malt to balance the hops. Medium-bodied, very bitter palate with low carbonation. A strong and hoppy IPA, but not very balanced.

Golden with a fine white head. Aroma of many (strong) hops and malts. Medium carbonated. Filling body. Incredible hoppy finish. A little more of everything used here is clearly. A beer with punches! Great divide Impresses me again!

Bottle - sampled at the RBESP 2005
Handsome orange amber, tanned creamy head. Agressive hoppy aroma - pine, citrus, grass. Light butter, amazing hops - nice broad profile. Medium body. Herbal finish, grassy aftertaste.

Bottle. Nice big lasting head. Color is amber. Aroma is powerful and hoppy. Taste is powerful and hoppy too with a nice sweetness mixed with the hoppy bitterness.
