Aroma of strong sweet and floral hops with some citrus and caramel malt. Hazy, amber coloured with an off-white, thin head. Taste is quite bitter. Cascading hops, caramel malt and fruitiness in it. Full bodied. Very enjoyable, but also quite overpowered. Dogbrick (2907), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Citrus and floral hops in the nose. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with floral hops, grapefruit and earthy malt flavors. The finish is hoppy with some citrus and pine aftertaste that lingers awhile. Pretty solid IIPA all around. Glouglouburp (2887), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Smells like a warm bowl of sweetened hops. Taste starts with burnt orange and burnt caramel followed by a very long finish with decent bitterness and some alcohol burns. Everything about that beer feels warm and burnt. One of the few very high abv IPA where the alcohol does’t kill too much of the hops flavours and bitterness. I can easily imagine myself drinking this not until I’m as strong as Hecules but until I think I am. Rune (2862), Tromsø, Norway
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2009 355ml bottle served lightly chilled in a trappist glass at Bar & Cigar in Oslo. Dense, but modest, off-white head resting on top of partial clear, dark amber body. Fine laceworks on the glass. Smell of smooth, piny hops and sweet malts. Rich hoppy flavour exploding in the mouth containing different kinds of fruity shells supported by caramel malts. Delicious and lingering endnotes of dry bitterness. Very enjoyable, but quite heavy to drink (Oslo, 28.04.2009). DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 5, 2005 Aroma of citrusy hops, cloudy orange, with a nice custard head. Strong hops flavour, mingled with a fine malt backbone. Well balanced, full bodied, just a treat to enjoy. Terrific! Ibrew2or3 (2841), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA

There is a sharp citrus aroma with a bit of malt. The first taste is all hops. Starts off with a strong hop flavor followed up by a hoppy bite. Initially there seems to be a little spice flavor that leads to a almost tin sensation. As the beer warmed this faded. Now I sense the a little malt behind the large hop flavor and bite. A good mix. after4ever (2840), Brier, Washington, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 26, 2006 Draft at Brouwer’s Cafe Hopfest ’06. Dark amber, garnet color. Huge piney nose. Small head, light lace. Big dry biscuit malts in the mid-palate, though they’re overwhelmed by harsh resins starting there and carrying through the finish. Crisp finish that keeps the door open for just a second, letting that cool hop breeze blow just a bit longer. The GF says it tastes like burnt berries. Not sure if that’s good or bad, but it seemed accurate enough that I include it here for your consideration. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
