Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

22 oz. bottle. Pours orange / red with a thin, off white head. Has a big grapefruit, lemony smell. Light to medium bodied with a bone dry mouthfeel. Has a tart, citrusy lemon and grapefruit flavor. Malts are barely noticeable. Has a long, dry, tart finish.

A dark orange appearance with a moderate off white head. The flavor is a nice kick of hops with some orange citrus, bread, pine , and caramel in the flavor. The aroma is pretty much the same and quite enjoyable. A bitter finish that leaves a citrus sting in your mouth. Yet another fantastic Double IPA!

12oz Bottle @ Coles Buffalo NY. Holy hop monster. Orangish Amber color with huge citrus floral hop aroma. Very smooth DIPA despite 9+ ABV. Malts at the end tend smooth everything out just right

Bottle at RBESG Grand Tasting 05. Unbelievable aroma - perfect hop profile. Delicious hops in the taste - fresh, fruity and slightly sweet to begin, dry, firm, bitter and crisp to finish. Long aftertaste, which suits me just fine. Almost perfect - I could drink this all day.

bottle. this is a bottle that the aroma grips you before you pour it. so i’ll describe the aroma first. as i frequently do when tasting ipa’s. aroma is hop, more hops, a few more hops, some cairo syrup, pine needles and more hops. grapefruit flavor and aroma comes through in this. the appearance is a starfruit orange, with a glistening dark body. a nice appearance. flavor is also heavily hopped. but it has undertones of grapefruit, lemon and other assorted citrus flavors. the hops really mellow out to allow for these flavors. finishes is also bitter with acidic fruit. this beer is a little over hopped, but not too bad.

Thanks to gputty for sharing. Clear, deep orange pour, with a big, white rocky head that becomes a dense white film. Sweet, candylike nose, like sour orange soda, with some floral notes. Thick white lace. Smooth medium malty flavor, followed by a medium bitter finish. Really a well balanced beer!

Bottle. A copper coloured ipa with a thick offwhite head. Fantastic aroma of piney hops, a bit spirity. Flavour is dominated by hops, quite over the top bitterness, and not enough malt to balance it out, everything is drowned out by the crude bitterness.
