| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2009 This reddish golden ale poured with a decent off-white head and a fruity floral hop aroma. There is a complex flavor that starts off with citrus, transitions to a sweeter toffee taste, then finishes with a hop bite. This is a very nice IPA. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 20, 2006 Pours a coppery/whisky color, hazed by strength, with a large, near-white head that lasts. Thick legs support rocky lacing. Pine resin hops with florals combine in an Irish Spring soapiness, with grapefruit appearing in a secondary nasal assault. Flavor finds remarkable balance with hops in great quantity yet seemingly tamed by sweet malts. IBUs are mouthwatering without a burn. Citrus is well-represented, but part of the hop profile sings "ESB". Smooth mouthfeel is more buttery than syrupy. If there ever was a sessionable DIPA, this would be it. (Currently tied for 10th in my all-time favorites alongside DFH90 and Avery Maharaja.)

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 6, 2007 Updated: May 2, 200822 oz. in Mason quart. Transparent copper-red, with a large white moonscape of a head that lasts. Aroma is sweet malt, pine, and slightly peppery-citric. Body is medium, with a creamy mouthfeel. Taste is initially sweeter than expected for an IPA, then finishes with some nasal peppery hops that seem to balance the nutty, cocoa flavors of the malt well. Long bitter aftertaste. iowaherkeye (1882), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2006 22oz. bomber. Pours a clear copper penny-orange with a moderate dissipating off-white head. Aroma of fresh piney hop cones and floral hops--very strong. Also some sweet toffee malts backing up the hops. Big bitterness throughout (mainly grapefruity), with 2/3 the way through some malty sweetness comes back, only to have more bitterness come back. Dry finish. Mild carbonation. Alcohol covered up pretty well--didn’t notice any burn at all. Very good brew.
