Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some bready malty tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste. This is one huge bitter hoppy bastard.

Orange body under a white head. Hoppy nose. Hops dominate throughout the drinking experience. Some malt tones. Not big on IPAs but found this to be very enjoyable.

Bottle scored on a Tejas trip. Nice deep, clear amber. Head is huge, tan-orange in color, long lasting. Aroma is maltish, subdued hop. Taste is an slow start of malt and subtle hopping that finishes in a long, up-front hop assault. Really tasty. Would definitely have again.

Bottle. Pours hazy copper orange. Quarter inch head that laces nicely. Stong aroma of hops, grapefruit, and some pine. As you would expect, hops dominate the flavor, but has an adequate amount of sweetness in the malt to give it SOME balance. A tad amount of alcohol in the otherwise hoppy bitter finish, that lingers nicely. A very solid beer and good example of the style. I would go back to this one again.

Pours golden with healthy, long lasting head. Smells of pine and citrus. Nice color with typical IPA appearance. Tastes a little more sweet than hoppy. Chewy. Nice IPA.

Pours clear amber with a large head. Aroma is packed with citrus, oranges, soap, pine, toffee and biscuits. Rich, oily mouth feel. Flavour is loaded with piney, resiny, dusty hops. I can also sense some liquorice. The bitterness stays in the mouth "forever".

Pours deep amber with a fair head. Very sweet flavor in the beginning a bit nutty, but soon the very full and bitter flavor kicks in. Very bitter finish. Difficult to rate other beers for a while after this one.

Whoo!! such a strong beer. At first sip, it gives the taste of grapefruit. the hops in this beer is very pungent. for a 9.1% ABV it hasn’t hit me yet. The taste fades after the intital shock. Not for begging, drink with caution
