Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Deep amber colour with a dense tan head. Hoppy aroma with a pineapple fruity sweetness. Massive hoppy bitter taste with a light fruityness. Light malty buttery and a smooth mouthfeel. Long dry finish.

Amber coloured. Very hoppy. Very bitter. Dry finish. This is a really great brew. Full bodied with a very long lasting aftertaste of fine hops.

Bottle: Amber coloured, hazy with some UFO’s, medium sized, slowly diminishing loose beige head; very solid piney to herbal hoppy nose with a distinctive toasty-caramelly background; dryish solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, well hidden alcohol; drier, but also caramelly finish with an extreme hoppy tail. Fine, fine brew...........

Arching orange liqueur fountains in an enchanted hop resin sanctuary...Plentiful pale fruit thrive in abundance as flowery endeavors enrapture the numerous piney and grassy hop vines...Caramel pools mirror their wealthy sweetness onto the hop oasis and create impressive luxury...Bliss and merriment fly about, foam literally coats the glass, epicureanism does reside in this bottle...

Bottled: Amber coloured. Clear. Beige medium head. Chocolate, hopyus and a light sweetness in the aroma. Is citric in the flavour. Loads of hops and fruit. Surprisingly smooth and crisp. Is very very bitter in the end. Yummy. This is a wild beer. Love it. Thanks Jacob and Martin for sharing.

650 ml bottle. Deep orange colour with a thick white head. Big earthy spicy hop aroma, a touch resinous. Pale malt aroma with just a touch of crystal (good). Loads of resiny, citrusy and spicy hop flavour in this one. Very well-balanced brew. Reminds me of Phillips Amnesiac. Highly and dangerously drinkable.

Murky orange with a large head. Very sweet citrus nose, oranges, grapefruit, pine, and a little gum. Very full and balanced nose, bright and sharp flavor initially. When this beer was first release back in 2003 or 2004, I could not stand it... it was disorganized, rough, raw, unfinished and sickening to drink. Glad to say they’ve clean it up quite a bit. Now it has some deifnite smoothness, has some massively chewy pine sap and hop/cannibus flavors, and just smells delightful.
