Pours an orange color with a small acidic head. Tastes of pine, grapefruit, and hops. Good but strong. HonkeyBra (1361), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Deep orange color with creamy white head. Aroma is like snorting a line of hops. The taste is also a lot of hops, but there’s a pleasant caramel malt background that enhances the drinkability. Slight alcohol burn in the finish. Dorqui (1361), Brescia, Italy

Dark red color, nearly brown. Optimal aroma, powerful and decided with balsamic notes of flowers, blows, red wine, stum. Much alcoholic and solid taste. Homogenous, mellow, long-lasting and aromatic. jaymobrown (1360), Chicago, Illinois, USA

The flavor doesn’t come with the hops though. There is a good amount of bitterness, but not as much as indicated by the nose. Floral, orange peel, lemon flavors. Good overall. Nice combination of bitter, hop, light citric flavors. Not much malt that I noticed. A bit too sweet. JFGrind (1354), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA

This is my first sample of Great Divide beers. The brewery’s beers are making the "rounds" here in the Philadelphia area. Great beer to sample on draft. Solid floral hops aroma, deep golden color with adequate lacing. Hops are backed by medium bodied beer nicely malted. This beer packs a punch and is an excellent Double IPA. Body was clear, and aroma was big on hops, with some spruce and grapefruit as well. There was the hops as expected, but there was also some butterscotch/caramel to go with a smooth medium mouth feel. I seem to like double IPA’s more then straight IPA’s, This was good. Rich, try this.Got this in a trade and i forget from who, but, thanx. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA

This is such beautiful smelling beer! Abundant floral hoppy-goodness. Hints of pepper, oak. Enough velvety smooth malt in the taste to let the hops really shine. And how they shine! Amazingly good stuff! The only thing wrong with this beer is that I will have to drive 13 hours to get another bottle...
