Deep orange nice colour. Moderate malty powerfull hoppy aroma. Great bitter flavor. Lots of hopps, but still slighty malty/sweet notes. Long great finish. Creamy palate. Great IIPA. bhensonb (4360), Woodland, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 29, 2007 Strong hoppy aroma - floral with citrus. Amber color with a decent white head. It laces in a funny, curvilinear fashion. Near medium body with creamy carbonation that has a bite. The flavor is mixed hop - floral, resin, grapefruit. Strong caramel malt, but not enough to interfere with the hop. The finish tends toward dry, and the hop just tingles. Bitter all the way, but in a good way. Very good. That’s understatement. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

This is still the type of brew I think of when i think IIPA. Thanks hey_kevin for sharing this bomber. There is a lot of hype around this one. I think it is a very solid double IPA. Has a dark red and orange body with a small tan and yellow head. The aroma is grapefruit, molasses and pine. This aroma is crisp and gets your attention. The taste is brown sugar, caramel and oak. A dry finish is very nice. Solid. Lots of malt to back this up. Seemed a little maltier on my second try. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jun 12, 2004 Interesting, different hop aroma - pine, citronella. Amber with white head that laces partially recedes to thick cover. Very assertive bitterness with a quick hit of alcohol. Balanced by a wonderful supporting malt body. Hps in flavour are more orange. Mouthfeel is full and creamy. This is a truly fine beverage and very enjoyable to drink. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 15, 2004 Bottle: Copper hue with creamy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of pine, grapefruit, orange zest, biscuit malts, buttery, floral and light spice, and some phenols. The taste starts with a BIG bitter twang and large citric notes. Malts add some balance and there is a nutty quality underneath. Woody and spicy undertones on the bitter and dry finish. Complex mouthfeel, some bite and warming, crisp. Darn solid and shows some great character, but still a bit unbalanced, may improve with sublime aging. Recommended. Thanks JeffC and MRomero for the bottles. cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2007 Bottle. White and relatively short head. Hazy orange body. Aroma of nuts and oranges. Flavor heavily dominated by the bitterness of the hops. If you like a well balanced hoppy beer this is it. I do. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
