Great hop flavor with lots of strong malt to back it up. A little spice and wood with a little hint of bitter caramelly toffee. Of course plenty of grapefruit as well. High ABV well pronounced in my throught but is generally embedded well without being overwhelming. Quite possibly the worlds greatest beer. HopBackDoc (394), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a amber/burnt orange with a foamy white head that lasts. Piney/citrus/hop aroma that awakens the senses creating a flow of enzymatic juices, preparing the taste buds for an explosion of flavor unmatched by any other 2IPA to date. Flavor was big on hops and a slight malt sweetness to back it up bringing a great balance throughout. This is a really enjoyable beer. Great Divide knows what they are doing, especially if you are a hop lover like me. mookieguy (17), USA

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 13, 2006 This is one great IPA. Reminds me of Ruination a lot, but not quite as smooth. The pour is a fantastic copper color. The view is dense, not allowing as much light through as many IPA’s. The head is big and bad, and stays around for your entertainment. It has big peaks and tons of lacing. The aroma is good--second only to the Stone Ales. The mouthfeel is fairly full and the finish is clean with the hops sticking in the aftertaste. The taste is great--nice balance. Heavy hops, but the right amount of malt makes this beer terrific." badbeer (433), Iowa, USA

Grapefruit and pineapple and a bit of lemon flow through my nose leaving me to wonder if anything could smell better. Taste is full of grapefruit, pine, pineapple, and a little bit of caramel in there. A slight alcohol presence. Less than average carbonation and medium bodied, paired quite well. An exceptional brew and very fairly priced to boot. I’ll be picking up more of this, try it if you can.

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jul 18, 2007 Bottle. Pours amber/orange with a small fizzy off-white head that sticks around for the whole beer with lacing that is very good. The aroma is overpowered by the hops, citrus and piney hops. The flavor is of caramel and nutty malts along with citrusy and piney malts. The body is medium to full with a creamy texture and lively carbonation. Overall this is very good. Very sweet, and very hoppy, very well balanced. It also hides the 9.1% very well. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 2, 2007 Bottle. Pours a burnt amber. The aroma is full of grapefruit and flowery hops. The taste is full bodied hops hitting straight to the back of the tongue. This is the way a double IPA should be. The hop flavor is strong right to the last sip. Mmm Mmm good. ericyyz (6), three bridges, New Jersey, USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 29, 2007 Great Divide makes some of the best pale ale’s and IPA’s you can get, and this one is their best. The color is a tad dark for a traditional IPA. The huge hop presence is beautifully balanced with malt smoothness.
