The taste is full bodied hops hitting straight to the back of the tongue. This is the way a double IPA should be. The hop flavor is strong right to the last sip. Mmm Mmm good. ericyyz (10), three bridges, New Jersey, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 29, 2007 Great Divide makes some of the best pale ale’s and IPA’s you can get, and this one is their best. The color is a tad dark for a traditional IPA. The huge hop presence is beautifully balanced with malt smoothness. craftbeerdesign (761), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA

I’ve had Hercules a couple times, but I swear, this stuff gets better and better... huge hop profile on the nose, very reminiscent of Dreadnaught... light orange in color with an average white head. big hops over the palate with soft sides that bring the malt forward a bit along with some light caramel. big body which is so smooth for being so bitter. nice lasting bitter finish... seriously one of the best beers available.... outstanding.

bottle. outstanding IIPA! full of hops. pours a deep golden / redish color with average head. Aromas of hops, pine and citrus. Outstanding palate and and flavor. Medium body, average carbonation.... this IIPA flows over your tongue with pure delight. this is a beer to buy over and over again. sipnor (3), Kansas, USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Aug 8, 2007 When poured it has a cloudy caramel color which is very inviting. The wonderful hops really hits your nose on the first sniff right then you know the label is not lying about it’s 85 IBU. This ale is a delight to drink the the right balance of bitter sweetness. The only minuscule issue I have is the ale is the very distinctive note of alcohol in the flavor. DrinkEmUpJones (22), Georgia, USA

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 30, 2008 First rating so I may be liberal, but what a beer to start rating with. It lived up to everything and more that people have said. 22 oz. bottle. Color was clear dark amber. Big off-white head (wheat glass...only available at time) with great, lingering lacing. Hoppiness was intense but blended well with malt sweetness to keep the bitterness in check. Although alcohol is on high side, it never interferred with the great hop taste. I’m glad I found this beer! hoplover (166), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 11, 2008 This DIPA is very impressive. From the hop profile, to the nutty, caramel maltiness, this beer is amazing.
It pours a beautiful foggy dark orange color. Up from the beer arises this tan head that sticks around till the shows over. The flavor is so intense but smooth... I hope the Lord has this beer for me in Heaven. There’s truly no harshness to it. It’s smooth sailin’ all the way down.
Thank you Great Divide. The Lord bless the hop harvest. gyllenbock (311), Stockholm, Sweden

Very nice smell, lots of hops. Very tasty with lots of hops and a heavy grapefruit flavor. Well balanced, its complex character leaves you wanting more.
