Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

The imperial IPA’s I’ve tried tend to have sweetness impair and overwhelm the flavor and also to lack carbonation but this on is just right- intense, balance, not too sweet. from nose to aftertaste it is just super.

22 oz bottle. Nice light mohagany pour with light head. Smooth piney hop aroma that gets your mouth watering. Starts off with a nice malty sweetness giving way to very nice hop taste with wonderful bitterness tickling the palate. Very well balanced. This is my first experience with a great divide beer and I am quite pleased - I can see why this D/IIPA is rated so high.

22oz bomber. poured nice head. citrusy aroma. gets more hoppy as the glass empties. great cheaper double IPA. favorite great divide brew to date.

Slightly hazy amber pour with thin very light tan head. Overwhelming hop nose (just the way I like it!) - pine, grapefruit, light floral/citrus notes. Lively and fizzy mouth feel with a sharp barklike aftertaste. Quite possibly my favorite double IPA.

Warning, this beer is not for little girls or Boy Scouts. Rated on the first pour: Off white, slightly yellow head. Appealing crisp amber color, clear, no sediment. The hops yield a potent and obvious citrus aroma. Lingers on the palate with a nice bitter finish that should be typical of a DIPA. Slight sweetness that was held back to appropriate levels. I can’t say enough about this beer. They got this beer right.. Should take the enamel off your teeth.

Sampled in Boulder. A fantastic micro brew that comes out very dark brown and full of great hops and malts. A truly top notch brew.

Creamy and thick, a IPA milkshake in ways. not as bitter as i would prefer out of a double IPA but worth the money spent. Aggressive malt mixed with a floral with nuts. long finsh.

heavily hopped and malted like the description says. slightly syrupy. hops are piney and floral. lingering bitter wonderfulness
