Easily outclasses several top offerings from the U.K. Alcohol content is never overpowering. Flavors range from grapefruit/citrus, to a sweet caramel goodness. The composition of hops is insipiring--the more IPA’s I drink, the more I keep coming back to this. Highly recommended! igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA

The flavor is essentially the same only with the alcohol being slightly detectable. Excellent creamy mouthfeel. Damn well-balanced. This beer truly gives the Dreadnaught a run for its money. Delicious hops in the taste - fresh, fruity and slightly sweet to begin, dry, firm, bitter and crisp to finish. Long aftertaste, which suits me just fine. Almost perfect - I could drink this all day. sudsmeister (40), Colorado, USA

It is the hoppiest, tastiest, most full bodied and most complex IPA I have ever consumed. Packs a punch, too. Highly recommended. Perceptron (32), USA

You know this year I am setting my homebrew sights on lagers so the commercial beers I’ve been buying have been big, double, imperial, whatever the hell you wanna call it IPAs! This is no exception and ranks up there with Stone Ruination for me. Great hop aroma, great hop flavor, nice malt presence too. Really a lot of beers of this style are pretty much alike, and since this one is a buck cheaper than Ruination I’ve actually bought two! Ho Ho! Look at me! I am buying high-priced bombers yet making a price comparison like I should be hanging out over at the malt liquor section. Ah well. Beaver (598), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jun 1, 2004 The Hercules Double IPA pours a slightly cloudy, copper color with a large, pillowy, light brownish-orange head that displays great retention and some nice lacing.
Its aroma is hops with citrus (apricot) and pine notes and some subtle malt in the background.
It has a nice, velvety mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. The flavor is very nicely balanced. Lot of big hops with some nice citrus notes and a good malt backbone to offset it, followed by a crisp finish. I didn’t notice the 9.1% alcohol at all - it is surprisingly drinkable.
Wow, this is a very well made beer! An excellent IPA specimen...probably my favorite to date, IPA or any other style. BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal

From the pour to the finish Hercules kicked ass. Wonderful frothy head, brilliant coloring and near perfect hop balance. I Bow down to the new king.
