| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 21, 2004 duvel tulip glass: there is a massive, tight, cremey, and off-white head that sparkles and lingers... it becomes rocky and airy with time, but oh does it take time... underneath the gorgeous head is a dark and fiery amber body accompanied by a great dark peach highlight. the taste is fantastic, the palate is wonderful, and the lacing left behind seems stickier than the salt that’s left on your car in the dead of urban winter. wow. this is sweet. this is huge! this is claiming to be god! (read the commercial description.) this is a helluva of a double IPA and definitely one of the best strong beers in the world! (of course, i'm very inexperienced at this point of time... but...) It almost knocks me to the floor. A little nuttyness is sensible too. Great bitter flavour. Flowery and herbal. Extreme bitterness in finish.
