Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

(I botched the score the first time) Mango. This beer smells of mangos and a hawaian vacation I took when I was in high school. Excellent flavor of citris, pine, sharp hop, and finishes with a malty flush. I enjoyed this beer. Grant enjoyed this beer. We’ll buy more.

$1.49 for a 12 oz. single at Blu Max (they must have undercharged since the 4-pack was $10.99 that I bought tonight). Absolutely excellent, just never want the taste to end! Alcohol is masked very well (far better than Dogfish Head’s 90 Minute Imperial IPA) although I’d like it a bit more if it were thicker and were even more hoppy and malty. The taste is wonderful although it doesn’t seem to linger as long as I’d like (although it does linger nicely, if only it lingered as long as the taste of puke, then we’d be onto something!). It’d be easy to drink one after another (equaling two as this is 9.1% and I’m a lightweight) until passing out, which I might end up doing some weekend.

Very strong and full bodied, but still highly drinkable. The hops cover up any alcohol flavor. Not as bitter as I expected due to the strong amber malt presence. Nice balance of malts and hops. Medium carbonation, but not much head at all. Lingering grapefruit hop finish.

Pours a redish orange colour with a creamy, slowly disolving, sticky head. Aroma is of pine, hops, with sweet honey notes. The flavours are amazing, toffee malt backbone with a good strong smack in the face of hops. Nice mouthfeel with a good tasty dry hop finish. I really enjoyed this beer, one of the best IPA I’ve ever tasted.

12 oz. bottle - Hercules Hercules Hercules!! Pours cloudy amber with long lasting white head; very strong aromas of hops and malt; well balanced tastes with the malt flavors slightly stronger than the hops, which is just the way I like, as a DIPA/IIPA is more than just about the strong hops

Bottle pour. Beautiful copper color with a thick white head that just lingered like the Cranberries. Intense, sick, floral hop scent that was amazing. Wonderful mouth feel and the taste is great consisting of citrus and tons of hops. Best IIPA that I’ve had to date.
