Aroma is dominated of lime, grapefruit, pine needles and orange rind. In the mouth this beer is massive. The citrus flavours explode and blends with caramel flavours. Massive bitterness and an alcoholic snap finishes off. Who said there’s a difference between beauty and bitterness???? xenthem0nk (101), Oregon, USA

I could tell deom the scent this would be a fantastic IPA even though I’m not really an IPA fan. Lots of complexities in the nose. Citrus, pine, floral, bitter fruit. The taste was so full bodied. So many flavors. Bitter, yet very sweet, like pink grapefruit instead of yellow if you were to compare this with other IPA’s. I highly recommend it. mfbeer (6), USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 9, 2005 People make a lot of the bitterness of this beer. I think it’s just right. It’s certainly not the first things I notice when tasting it. Clove spiced orange with raisins and brown sugar. The after bite stays with you sending the rich ripe aroma up into your nose for a minute after you swallow. Exceptional body, thicker than you’d expect. Beautiful lace and creamy head. Fit for the gods indeed! milewide (622), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

Flavor is seriously hoppy and has a piney tone and some bitterness. I highly recommend this beer to all hops fanatics. Adenila (958), Denmark

Poors a hazy orange color with a light orange creamy long lasting head. Aroma is a powerfull hob mixture, pine, flovers and some grapefruit, mixed with a heave toffee malt profile. When you take a zip, the first thing that hits you is a massive bitterness, after it settles, a sweet toffe malt comes though, while the bitterness is sustained and follows into the finish. Truely a wellbalanced double IPA. aussie12 (14), rochester, New York, USA

I liked it at about 50 degrees, seemed to get the max aroma and flavor balance. Good stuff, not to mention the 9.1% weight, pow! alaskaiscold (7), Tennessee, USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Mar 8, 2006 Holy shit, this is a great double IPA. Probably my favorite that I’ve had to date.
Poured an apple juice color into a standard pint glass. Big, thick head with lots of lacing. Smells of sweet hops up front and a little malt in the backbone. Taste was unbelievable. Caramel dipped hops with lemony lime hops with more hops and more hops. God, this is freaking GOOD! Mouthfeel was just a *little* thin, but nothing terribly wrong. Wonderful drinkability, which I’ve found to be true of all Great Divide beers. They are just consistently good.
HIGHLY Recommended.
