Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottle. Lightly burnished bronze with a fine cream collar. Neat lychee, toffee, Turkish Delight and cheesecake base aroma with some woodsy high alcohol heat behind it. Alcohol warm from the off; orange liqueur silkiness, soap, caramel, digestive biscuits and pistachio chipping in. Like DFH 90min this has got a luxurious malt slickness that carries the hops and alcohol with finesse. Mellow, rounded, glowy IPA . Even the missus liked it.

12 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours a cloudy amber color with a 2-inch thick off-white head that leaves some thin lacing behind and a creamy lid on the beer. Aroma of bitter hops, pine, resin, earth and floral notes, citrus, and caramel. The flavor is bitter hops, pine, orange citrus, caramel, earthy notes, malt, and just a little alcohol under the surface. Medium bodied, malty, and earthy. Low-medium carbonation. Nice DIPA but it’s been overrated a bit on here.

well it certainly is good, but I don’t see it as being all that amazing. Poured with a nice sized off white foamy frothy head and lots of lace. Color is a lovely clear medium amber. Aroma is heavy hop and earthy honey, malty, a little hop, earthy, skank, quim, and leather. flav’s about the same. Body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is equal. Session if you like this kind of beer.

355mL bottle. Has a great earthy, citrus hop aroma. Nice hazy amber/orange pour with a soft off-white head that lasts. Love how the slightly burnished malt carries the weight of the overt hoppiness into a lingering bitter finish. Lovely, full and creamy mouthfeel too. Great beer!

Bottle. Poured an orange amber with a big fluffy white head. Aroma is grassy and earthy, with a bit of a floral scent. Has a sweet, caramelly, almost fruity malt flavor leading into lots of citrusy hops. This is very aromatic and hoppy, but not nearly as bitter as I expected. It has a mild bitter bite at the end but is quite balanced. This is very easy to drink for a DIPA while still being sufficiently hoppy.

Pours a clear orange to amber color with a thick, lasting, foamy, white head. Quite lovely complex fruity aroma with hints of orange, peach, citrus, grass, caramel and honey. Flavor starts off innocently sweet and fruity, but then *zengg*, the bitterness kicks in and stays forever. Medium carbonation. Great beer.

Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a pint glass. The color is a hazy yellowish orange with a finger and a half of foamy white head with some nice lacing. The smell is very hoppy with some citrus flavor such as tangerine and grapefruit. The taste is huge with the hops just right out front like expected. A really heavy citrus flavor mixed with some tangerine, some slight lemon and grapefruit. The feel of this beer is quite smooth. A really great double IPA with some nice flavor and and really great body. Is pretty crispy and wonderful to drink.
