stefanje (540), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Jul 12, 2008 650 ml bomber from Zinister. Pours a translucent copper color with a big sudsy white head that leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is that of a classic IPA with plenty of citrus, pine and caramel. The flavor, like the aroma, is rich with pine, citrus and caramel, but its the hops that dominate with a good biter bite. The mouthfeel is full, smooth and malty. The finish is long and biter-sweet. Overall: This is one of the finest IPA’s on this planet, it exceeded my expectations by a long shot.. I love it. Thanks Zin, after a hard day at work this is great beer to come home to.
afireinside96 (390), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 20, 2008 Hazy orange-amber body topped by wispy white head. Smells strongly of my favorite hop, Amarillo, big grapefruit, citrus smell. Taste is much the same, fresh and juicy, some caramel and alcohol warmth are also noted. Smooth lasting bitterness accompanies the flavor. Great stuff. gameface23 (77), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Aug 18, 2008 Hazy orange with a great looking head that leaves impressive lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops with a well rounded taste, great mouthfeel, and finish that is pure flavor without the bitterness. Great beer! Linnet (3), , Sweden does not count Aug 18, 2008 very nice aroma and appearence. The flavour was very intense. This was my first double IPA and it left me wanting for more. jonno (151), Japan Aug 18, 2008 A great hoppy smack to the chops. Very enjoyable in that american hops overkill way. could do with a bit more balance, but one to reach for in the cooler months fezzik20 (4), USA does not count Aug 17, 2008 After one beer, this vaults into my top 3 very easily. Reminiscent of/cross between Dogfish’s 90 Min IPA and a Stone Double Bastard, it is very balanced, yet very hoppy. You’d never know it was 9.1% alcohol. Do yourself a favor and pick up a 4 pack.
