Nose has masses of malt, caramel, nuts & toffee with pine & citrus hop notes - basically your typical US IPA. Palate is quite malty with the toffee malt bringing a full palate. Relatively low carbonation. Hops kick in the mid palate & round out with medium bitterness on the finish. A bit of a malt bomb. Would like to see a touch more carb to dry it up a touch. Abv not at all evident, which is a plus. Probably a totally different beer with a fresh sample, enjoyable all the same.

The color is a hazy yellowish orange with a finger and a half of foamy white head with some nice lacing.
The smell is very hoppy with some citrus flavor such as tangerine and grapefruit.
The taste is huge with the hops just right out front like expected. A really heavy citrus flavor mixed with some tangerine, some slight lemon and grapefruit.
The feel of this beer is quite smooth. A really great double IPA with some nice flavor and and really great body. Is pretty crispy and wonderful to drink.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Rather dark for a DIPA, with a lush tan head. The aroma is fantastic, with hints of caramel, spruce, and citrus. Alcohol starts to creep through as it warms, but not offensively. A slight grassy flavor peaks through, with a hop and malt profile that echoes the aroma. Creamy on the palate, and very satisfying. abemorsten (167), Norway

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2009 12 oz bottle- Pours golden amber with a nice head, aroma is of spice, citrus and hops. The flavor although not as good at the Titan IPA is very good. Although the alcohol is higher in this one, the Titan had a much more interesting hop character to it, and also more of a hop presence. This is another great Beer from one of my favorite breweries. walrussell (120), , Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Really tasty - very sweet, but it works well, cuz the melony citric hoppiness is so strong - It comes out as a balance. Wonderful look and intense mouthfeel. Covers up the 10% alcohol perfectly, which is quite a trick. Only issue is slight over-sweetness.
