| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Pours a medium-dark ruby tinted brown with a 3-4 finger peach-beige head that has great retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is lots of dark caramel, toasted nuts, roast, toffee, dark fruits and some planty hops. Flavor is roasted nuts, toasted wood, caramel, vanilla, dark toast, toffee and planty hops. Finish is slightly bitter hops, roast and burnt caramel. Palate is medium thickness with a playfully light carbonation, a slick feel and a fairly neutral finish that leans toward dry. Overall this is a really good beer that has a lot going for it but fails to keep my interest. v64 (74), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 1, 2009 Absolutely delicious. Pours golden brown, thin off white head. Strong, nutty aroma. The taste is roasted and hoppy, complemented very well with the malt. Just the right amount of carbonation. Will drink again and again. Adam77 (409), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Pours dark reddish brown and clear with a light beige head. Smell is nuts and borderline toasty/roasty malt. Taste is dark dry toasty malt and almost with a burnt, charred quality to it along with a bit of hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied with an average level of carbonation. Pretty enjoyable, and it’s a nice holiday ale without all the typical spiced flavors. Nice beer. Under-age Drinker (96), Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Updated: Apr 4, 2009Well I drank a Hibernation bottled in1996 last night, i cant believe how well this beer held up over 13 years...It lost little of its carbonation and retained many strong ale characteristics, almost barleywineish. Lighter on the hops than a fresh Hibernation, somewhat sour finish....good Gethinbeer (1006), Nova Scotia, Canada
