| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 25, 2008 This has a beautiful deep red color with a thin residual head. The aroma is full of toffee, grains, and malt. The body is full and tastes of malty goodness, with only mild bitterness underneath. It finishes with a malty, grainy aftertaste. This graininess isn’t quite a barnyard wet blanket flavor, but a subtle form of that. The alcohol is slightly noticeable and contributes to the experience. Overall it’s a very tasty, interesting beer. Butters (1652), Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 25, 2008 Pours a hazy orange with small tan head. Pick up some sweetness and alcohol in the nose. Flavor is unusual. Cocoa, vegetal, malty, sweet, bitter. This was a pretty fresh bottle, so i’d be interested in trying some vintage stuff. beergod (102), Austin, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 19, 2008 The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Very complex aroma. Starts very strong and intense - like a barleywine. A bit roasty-smoky, becomes milder in the end. Very good beer! carruthm (1136), Seattle, Washington, USA
