Commercial Description:
HotShot ESB is an easy-drinking and remarkably smooth Extra Special Bitter, brewed in the classic-English style. More assertively hopped than ordinary bitters, light copper-colored HotShot showcases clean hop flavors, balanced by its slightly fruity nose and light-caramel malt character.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Secret Santa. Poured a fairly clear copper color with a thick, foamy white head. Lots of carbonation. Light but pleasant aroma of sweet malt with maybe a touch of hops as well. Really not all that flavorful. Pretty dull actually. After a few seconds, some excessive hops bitterness kicks in, almost like biting the white part of a grapefruit. Unpleasant, long bitter finish. Thin mouthfeel. This is the first beer from Great Divide that I did not really care for.

12oz. bottle. Clear amber color with a medium sized white head. Mild grassy hop aroma with some sweet malt and a bit of a metallic smell. Bitter hop flavor, somewhat astringent, with the odd metallic quality coming on a bit more in the flavor.

Decent sized off-white head of fine bubbles. Great carbonation. Reduces to a dense rocky head of foam. Nice hoppy and bitter aroma. Sharp biting aroma with loads of white remind me of cascade hops. Light caramel background. Medium orangish brown in color. Light malty aroma with a little bit of orange and some dry hoppy goodness. Dry pasty finish and a little harsh bitterness. This used to be a style that I used to really enjoy. Not as much anymore.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel, and hops. The flavor is slightly sweet caramel, fruit, and and a slight bitterness. Decent brew.

Pours amber-orange with a very ample white head. Lasting layer of foam with lots of lacing. Mildly fruity aromas and flavors - all subtle enough that they really aren’t very detectable. The malt construct isn’t firm enough to hold much. Dull, but inoffensive.

Pours amber with a rediculous head i’m talking huge. Smells and tastes sorta nutty and maybe some smoke in with the roasted flavor. Ok but won’t revisit.

(Bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy amber body with a moderate white head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, and breadiness. Flavor of toasted malt, caramel, and mild hops.
