Commercial Description:
HotShot ESB is an easy-drinking and remarkably smooth Extra Special Bitter, brewed in the classic-English style. More assertively hopped than ordinary bitters, light copper-colored HotShot showcases clean hop flavors, balanced by its slightly fruity nose and light-caramel malt character.

(355 ml bottle at The Rover) Clear brown color with a tan head. Malty Wienna or Münchener scent. Some hops in the smell as well. Very nice fruity flowery hoppy taste with a good bitterness, the distinct Wienna/Münchener malty after taste.

Let’s call it an amber ale. Copper orange, loose whitish head. Simple malty aroma, some hops. Taste is malty, light caramel, bit toasty, grassy hops. Mild flavored beer.

Amber color, with a frothy beige head, sweet toasted malt nose, bready dough with a toffeeish note, grassy floral hops aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with a toasted malt character, cookie dough, toffeeish accent, nutty, caramel, citrus orangeish floral hops accents, leading towards an earthy flowery hop bitterness finish.

12 oz. bottle brought back from CO by my neighbor. I liked this one and am a bit surprised by the low ratings. fruity aroma with decent caramel malts. nicely hopped, leaving that pleasant hop aftertaste which lingers for just the right amount of time. nicely done.

Bottle. Nice aroma, that smells like freshly seeped crystal malt and floral hops. Pours amber with diminishing off white head, spotty lacing. Carbonation is a little too lively. Initial british like flavor of butterscotch, grain husks, countered by an aggressive spicy hop bitterness. Some soapiness and tea flavors in the finish. A little bit of a mess, but not offensive.
