Commercial Description:
HotShot ESB is an easy-drinking and remarkably smooth Extra Special Bitter, brewed in the classic-English style. More assertively hopped than ordinary bitters, light copper-colored HotShot showcases clean hop flavors, balanced by its slightly fruity nose and light-caramel malt character.

Moderate hop and sweet malt aroma. moderately bitter and malty. Some light citrus notes. Dry with a effervescent carbo. Not my favorite ESB but decent.

Orange appearance. Quickly diminishing white head. Much more bitter than other ESBs from England. Seems more like a pale ale. An ordinary beer.

Bottle. Poured amber color. Taste was very hoppy and the bittnerness remained even after it had gone down. Definitely a good one to try if you like ESBs.

Bottle. Pours golden honey color with fluffy off-white head, which leaves cavescape lacing. It has a fruity hop aroma with some sweet malt and a touch of biscuit. The flavor is quite fruity, with some toffee, indistinct bitterness, cake-icing-like sweetness, and an earthy finish.

Excellent beer, far exceeding expectations. Pours a great hazy orange with a very sticky head. Aroma is remrkable hops and honey malt. Flavor is hoppy for an ESB, but I think it balances enough with a honey sweet finish. Great creamy, silky mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle. Bottled 2nd week of October. Served in a pint glass @ 47°. Copper colored with a big, white, frothy head. There is visible yeast in the bottom of the glass. The aroma is honeyish malts and citrusy hops. The initial taste is sweet, bready malt, with a hint of green apple followed by an earthy, woodsy hops rush and a lingering, mildly bitter finish. More bitter than a typical ESB, but otherwise a good example. A good session beer for some, but not really my cup of tea (I don’t care for these hops).
