The aroma is fruity, the smell is grapey a similar smell to the fermentation room in a winery with a bitter aspect. The taste is good, clean, light carbonation. The feel on the palate is tannic mildy bitter but balanced with a caramel malty sweetness that finishes mildy. Great beer fantastic style.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2006 Updated: Mar 24, 2006Bottle: Its got hops, like most evey Great Divide I’ve had. Thats the aroma for sure, although sweet smelling malts dominate it. There is also some honey maybe, wheat, pine/mountainy. The appearence is a deep gold, almost like a cider, could have been the shipping, the storing (at store), the batch or somethign, but WAY too much head (dirtyish brown)had to pour for a solid 15 mins. The flavor is sweet, in particular the finish. Quite nice. Some definite citrus in the flavor. Also some hops. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2006 Copper in color, medium sized white head. Sweet malt aroma up front with faint hop bitters showing up. Falvor again sweet malt with a citrus hop bite taking over through the middle. Orange and grapefruit zest prevelant. Maybe a little hoppier than the standard esb, but decent nonetheless. jhliesen (406), West Melbourne, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 12, 2006 Bottle-It poured with an explosive, large foamy head, could have been the bottle, could have been me, don’t know. The color was a heavy yellow. It is an hoppped up ESB, but I like it as the hops were well balanced with the malts to give your lips and tongue a good feel with the good taste. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2006 Pours amber with a two-finger white head. Hoppy aroma, with toffee and caramel notes. Bready flavor, with a sharp hop finish. Not bad for the style. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 9, 2006 Highly hopped version of the ESB. Very nice hop aroma and some basic citrus hop flavors, backed with decent malt. This could be a crowd pleaser, but tastes pretty much like any other American ESB. Standard fare, but tasty nonetheless. RooftopRogue (423), Champaign, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 3, 2006 This beer has a good strong hoppy smell with the presence of grapefruit being detected in the background. It is an orangish corn color with a good head. This beer offers a dry bitter taste of hops that dries the tongue out and tingles the palate. The flavor of hops lingers well leaving a mild bitterness in the throat. jzzbassman (852), New Albany, Mississippi, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2006 Poured a hazy orange with a fluffy white head. Hoppy nose, mostly of pine. Very easy drinking, with fresh orange marmalade and biscuits on the front with a clean finish. Really fresh and enjoyable session beer.
