Commercial Description:
HotShot ESB is an easy-drinking and remarkably smooth Extra Special Bitter, brewed in the classic-English style. More assertively hopped than ordinary bitters, light copper-colored HotShot showcases clean hop flavors, balanced by its slightly fruity nose and light-caramel malt character.

Copper colored and clean. A bit smelly and sweaty, sharp hoppy and tinny flavors with some light wood notes as well. A bit harsh on the palate... but decent enough - starchy, a bit acidic, rough and raw texture. Robust tinny over-hopped red-ale style. Good but has noticeable defects.

Biscuty malty nose poured light amber orange, light malt taste with mild bitter background that seemed to get stronger as it warmed. Didnt taste any fruit. Balanced at first, leaning toward bitter at the end.didn’t have that touch of carmel I associate with English ESB,but nice enough

Pours with a large, airy, frothy head. Lots of carbonation rushing to the top. Copper orange. Crystal clear. Watery looking. Moderate hop aroma up front, with some caramel ,toffee, and bakery notes in support. Not nearly as bitter as would be expected. Dry. Very thin. Non-offensive. Would be an entry level beer for most.

Sampled at the brewery, so it was pretty fresh. Pours a light amber/copper with an ok off white head. Lots of fruity esters, light herbal and floral hops and some light caramel malts. Light nuttiness in the middle, wiht a good smooth finish with just a touch of bitterness.

Light amber with an off white head. Aroma has some muted hops, nuts, and bread. The aroma is a step above weak as far as its pungency. (Is that even a word?) Very smooth and kind of fruity tasting with some nuttiness. The finish is slightly dry and the hops shine through to add some bitterness. Solid brew, but nothing spectacular.

Bottle. Poured an amber color with a small white head that mostly disappeared and left behind some lacing. Caramel and citrus at the nose. The flavor was a hoppy bitterness with fruits and orange present. Light body. Finished more sweet than bitter.

Light amber pour...definitely some hoppiness in the nose, sorta herbal-like. Some malts come through in the flavor, but it’s still all about the piney hoppy bitterness. More in your face than Fullers, but it’s still a pretty decen drink. Not my favorite from GD, but worth a try.

Bottled. Pale amber coloured. Fruity and hoppy aroma with notes of tea. Sweet, hoppy and fruity flavour with a rather dry and slightly bitter finish.
