Commercial Description:
HotShot ESB is an easy-drinking and remarkably smooth Extra Special Bitter, brewed in the classic-English style. More assertively hopped than ordinary bitters, light copper-colored HotShot showcases clean hop flavors, balanced by its slightly fruity nose and light-caramel malt character.

Ok, so nothing really special about this beer, but nothing bad about it either. Very average ESB. No kick, but no aftertaste either.

Hazy copper colored liquid. Thin white head. Medium malty nose. Tangy medium dry with some fruit type kick. Finishes herbally and mildly sweet.

Somewhat hazy orange/amber color with a thin cream colored head. Bright nose of candied orange peel, pine and honey. I wouldn’t call this an English ESB. Lots of citrus hop flavors, orange peel, apple juice, with a grassy finish. Okay beer. May be better with food.

Not anything to write home about. Tastes like a slight variation of the big three of Great Divide, which are the pale ale, ESB, and amber. A strong hop presence with low/ medium malt levels. There is always a earthiness in all three. IMHO, the IPA is the only beer I would bother with if is not one of Great Divide’s "big beers".

Clear honey orange hue. Almost rocky almost white head, mostly lasting, leaving nice creamy lace. Herbal, sweet, faint citrus, pine hop nose. Caramel malts stand up in front, medium bodied palate, light fruit, citrus and juicy herbal hops through the finish. Clean and simple, a bit on the boring side, but quite quaffable nonetheless. This goes well with pub fare, especially spicy stuff. These guys produce some awesome beers, and some mediocre ones as well.

In the tradition of Rogue’s Brutal Bitter, this one is an english style bitter in name only. A blast of citric and piney american hops greets the nose, tingles the palate, washing down with a fairly clean and lightly caramelized malt character.
