Golden copper color beer with an off white head. Hoppy aroma. Tastes a little more hoppy than the typical ESB but has the same malt background flavor. The hops overpower the malts some, but not extremely so. Its still a fairly smooth and drinkable ESB, with a rather spicy hop finish. willblake (2178), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Pours golden copper, very clear, with minimal foamy head. The aroma, I’m sorry to say, was a bit vegy like with spicy hops riding underneath. The flavor was better with spicy hops, dull malt and a metallic hint. The body was watery but a bit dry at the finish. I’ve got to say, maybe I just don’t like ESB anymore. It really did have some flavor and a bit of a kick, but I just did not enjoy it. IndianaRed (1555), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2005 Bottle Pours a clear medium dark golden copper color witha large off white head and lots of lacing clinging to the sides. Aroma is a fairly strong woody hoppiness. Flavors are similar but a nice combo of the deep woody malts and the mild hops. A good match. Quite full feel and somewhat soft carbonation. I Liked it.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 1, 2005 Copper color with thin head and spotty lacing. The nose is a touch hoppy in an earthy way that makes it easy to interpret it into diacetyl. The flavor is fairly balanced. Compared the the previous beers this eavening this doesn’t hold much. A bit yeast, some carbonation and some waxy coating hop component that just dust over the alcohol and expect it to slide down my through like some gongbao jiding after a hard night of drinking. Wrong? not really, but not exactly right. A numbing hop sweetness experiement gone wrong, that’s all. jcwattsrugger (5374), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 14, 2005 A good example of an esb, I liken it to saranac esb, they have a very similar flavor profile. Good malty flavor with just the right amount of hops. Carbonation was a little too high for my liking. Nice, drinkable esb.
