A bit toasty and a bit dry. Maybe a little thin for an ESB, but I found this beer drinkable. jefcon (1003), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Aug 29, 2005 Clean-smelling, with an orange, lemon, peach and slightly amber nose. Tastes incredibly fresh out of the bottle -- even after the 1700 miles to travel to VA. Rich and coppery in the glass, with some lacing and a diminishing head. Taste grants the malts a larger role, with some caramel and brown toast in the background. No spice in this ESB, which allows the hops to shine. They show off orange, lemon, peach and apricot hues. Very complex for fruit, but not very bitter. Really, the best descriptor for this beer is jam-on-toast. I think it’s a nice change from bitter-beer-face bitters. Rounded on the palate, but disappearing and short -- the only flaw. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2005 Slightly floral, grapefruit aroma. Hugehead sits atop a deep golden color. Biscuit malt is surrounded by citric American hops. Refreshing. Fantomas23 (463), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 28, 2005 Caramel-sweet maltiness. Drank smooth without much of a bitter punch at the end. Great Divide has some pretty stand-out brews. While this one didn’t stand out too much, it’s still a pretty solid ESB.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 22, 2005 Well, this is the last of the small ales I had lying around. And this seems like most of the ones I had today. Look of a slightly hazy amber and a thin head. Aroma here is more floral and less malty than the DPA. Flavor is comes off as a smooth malt basis with a thin small buttery hop finish. Decent bitter, but, eh, nothing too great.
