Aroma: spicy hops, nuts & toffee, a very malty affair, almost rich and caramelly...spot on for a solid ESB, and a nice treat.
Taste: bouncy hops, a full-on maltitude. Then the body thins some and the finish fades...perfect! Extraordinary drinkability, refreshing, recurrent flavor...quite a nice little quaffer.
Overall: I think I already covered everything. Quite suitable for the style. blatz (138), Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 4, 2005 Disappointed with this one -- very light amber color -- decent frothy head, nothing real noticeable in the taste, and very non ESB like -- in comparison to Fuller or even Red Hook. And not very bitter either. Good beer to try, but I don’t know if I will ever pick this one up again -- it just didn’t have anything memorable about it. frylock (1026), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 3, 2005 Amber color with a thin white head. Caramel, malts and some C-hops in the aroma. Lightly toasted malts, moderate bitterness, a light metallic note. Finishes dry. Meh. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 29, 2005 Amber color, soapy, fizzy head with good lacing. Cane sugar and orange sweetened hop aroma. Hmm... same with the taste, but with a dry grainy finish that has hints of strawberries.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 27, 2005 Dude! There is an Xtreme skiier on the label. Rad? This beer is a reddish amber color with a thin beige head and minimal lacing. Aroma of bread, malt and hops. Medium bodied with citrusy hops and a fair amount of malt underneath. The finish is clean, short and hoppy. Not a bad beer by any means, just nondescript enough for me to forget it pretty quickly. Good thing I am writing this down. ante (2969), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2005 Clear pale amber colour. Low creamy head. Clean aroma of apricot, oranges, caramel and hops. Hopbitter flavour with sweet undertones of oranges and lemon. Floral and grassy bitter finish. Beaver (599), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2005 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden-amber. It has a huge and craggy whitish-orange head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is grassy bitterness with a little sweet caramel malts and a little DMS.
The flavor is toasted biscuity malts and toffee with some sweetness and DMS popping out as well. It has a big grassy bitter finish that lingers in the aftertaste. It’s medium to light bodied and a little watery.
Overall, surprisingly bitter and unbalanced for an ESB. It’s still decent though.
