Commercial Description:
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Bottle from De Bierkoning. Amber with a smallish head. Intense citrussy and grassy hop aroma. Good bitterness, some bread, definite citrus flavours. Wonderful.

Lightly hazy orange amber color with a nice off white head. Super fresh aroma with loads of piney, grassy hops. Great flavor with lots of citrus fruit, pine, some ginger and that green fresh cone hoppiness.

650ml bottle at the Rake, 14th Dec 09. Rich amber with a rocky white head. Splendidly fresh aroma - piney and grassy. Flavour is all fresh hops - very green and lots of citrus. Great palate and lingering bitterness at the corners of your mouth. A real treat.

Bottle from Pflug. Clear orange pour. Wet, citrus hop aroma. Taste is rough. Rubber bands and pine. Unpleasant finish with an aftertaste that lingers like a stank ass fart.

Lightly hazed amber body with lightly tanned head. Stunning looking pour. Full floral hop bouquet which must have been amazing when closer to the bottling date, but still pack quite the punch. Mostly dry caramel malty body. Somewhat earthy. Soft citric notes with light resin and pine. A tad soapy on the finish. Been awhile since my last fresh-hop and happy to find that this one did not disappoint.

Gift from Pflug. Clear light orange color. Smells of light earthy hops. Taste is a musty old hoppy taste. Could be much fresher but is a little earthy.

It poured a clear golden liquid with a small white foam that had some craters in it. It left a small amount of lacing on the side of the glass. It had a hoppy smell of both grassy and fruity hops, mainly passion fruit. It had a medium smooth mouthfeel with a bit of sting and a high bitterness that lasted a long time. It also had a taste of hops, buts, grass, fruits, grapefruit and passion fruit. Tasted fresh just as the title said. I liked this one.

Bottle from Cavie. Smells like Christmas trees. I’m not a fan of a lot of Hops, and the hops are very prevalant. A slight musk smell is also noticed.
