| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 3, 2009 Thick opaque black pour that leads to a two finger brown head with good retention leaving nice looking lace on the glass. Rich dark chocolate, woody vanilla, coffee bean aroma. Flavor is more dark chocolate, leading to the oak and vanilla, and finishing with hoppy bitterness and a little burn from the 9.5% abv. Medium-heavy body with average carbonation. Another home run beer by Great Divide. PJClarke (718), London, Greater London, England

Super rich on the tongue with great roasted malts and some hoppiness. Big wood and almost green pine flavours. Some kiwi maybe? Darned intense. Wow this is heady. A really great beer. Roasty, toasty and highly boozy. DuffManSW (297), Riverside, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 22, 2009 Opaque black on the pour with dark brown head that retians well and leaves nice lace. Nose is rich with nougat and dark chocolate. Palate is big on roasty/chocolatey flavors, with a citrusy hop flavor that cuts through the roasty flavors too much for me. I don’t like fruit in my chocolate desserts - just give me the chocolate, fudge, whatever. Here the citrusy hops come through too much and influence the overall flavor away from being a sweet dessert stout. vinerd (17), Orlando, Florida, USA

Hops, coffee, chocolate, toffee, and vanilla. I was expecting a tad more oak presence. Very creamy, slightly carbonated. Very nice.
