Commercial Description:
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

A: Dark black with a medium head that retains nicely and leaves behind some nice lacing. Beautiful! S: Ahh the smell of an Oaked Stout. Vanilla, Chocolate, Cherries, Brown Sugar and a hint of booze. Wonderful! T: It tastes as good as it smells. I love the regular Yeti and the oaking pushes this one over the top. There is a big mocha coffee taste with a splash of the vanilla. The oaking leaves a little smokiness behind. Divine! M: This is a thick beer that coats the mouth and throat which is such a wonderful thing since it lets this baby linger. Super! D: I put down an entire bottle easily and if I had another I would have been on my way to drunken ecstasy. Bravo! Overall: If you like the regular version of Yeti do yourself a favor and pick this one up. It is a wonderful stout and the oaking smoothes it out and pushes it to another level. Great Divide has done a great job with this one. It’s worth every cent! Cheers!

Huge delicious head! Great lacing and head retention. This beer pours thick and smooth. Nose: Robust coffee, dark fruits, belgian chocolate, licorise, and molassis(stawberry, and a mild pomogranite freshness) Flavor: Oak, hops, coffee, caramel, and chocolate. Mild alcohol, and a big malty fullness. Huge mouth feel, big hoppy and molassis finish!

Pours a deep, teriyaki sauce color with a HUGE, creamy, espresso colored head. Nose full of hops, lots of oak, chocolate, licorice, and bitter coffee. Gorgeous, smooth, and creamy, this beer has notes of heavy oak, chocolate, coffee, toffee, and caramel beautifully accented by hops on the tip of the tongue. Gorgeous. The hops really pull the flavor off the tongue, which highlights some of its best characteristics in what is an incredibly complex array of flavors.

22oz brown glass pry-top. No freshness date. Appearance: Pours a thick black with a slight tan head that leaves lots of spotting as it recedes. Nose: Beautiful black coffee beans, dark chocolate, rich vanilla cream, espresso, dried vanilla bean, and some sweet toasted oak notes. Palate: Medium-bodied and moderately rich. Lots of sweet black chocolate notes up front mingle with some coffee and cream in the middle and then fades out to more bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, and finally an espresso-like bitterness. Notes: An incredibly complex beer. The flavors evolve from first sip to mid-palate to way out on the super-long finish. Nicely made and an improvement on the original Yeti. Highly recommend it to stout and espresso lovers.

Bottled on 12.18.08. Jet black color with tan head. Wonderful aroma of roasted malt, molasses, hops, coconut and dark chocolate. This is crazy thick with a full, rich and slightly sweet roasted malt taste with coffee and dark chocolate notes that give way to a lingering bitterness. Long aftertaste. This has a lot going on and that is how I like it. Snow day in Denver and it might of been wise to of shared this bomber with someone else.
