| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 20, 2008 This reminded me of Expedition Stout, with a little bit harsher palate. That was surprising considering the oak aging, but this is still a great imperial stout. I wouldn’t mind giving this a side-by-side with the normal Yeti to get a better idea of what the oak does for it. Hophead22 (1105), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 18, 2008 22oz bottle. Another very dark pour, dark brown head. Not quite as strong of an aroma as the regular Yeti, everything was a little more muted, but some slightly woody aroma as it warmed. Not quite as bitter as Yeti, very smooth and very good. Thanks to ericandersnavy & Bman for making the beer run. Pours a pitch black with a thick chocolate head, wow...The head itself resembled a chocolate malt. Aroma of some wood, roasted barley, chocolate. Flavor is great, coffee, chocolate, dark roast, alcohol, nice hoppy bitter. Overall, GREAT stout! OleR (2106), Oslo, Norway

The aroma has a lots of hops up front, then roasted malts and chocolate. Notes of vanilla, wood and ash. Sweet-flavored; refined, roasted dark malts and tons of chocolate supported by a very well prononced bitterness. Notes of salty licorice, pepper and wood. Medium to full body. Malty and hop-bitter finish with chocolate notes. Great brew. MatSciGuy (640), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 31, 2008 [Bottle] Pours viscous black with a smallish burnt caramel colored head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is loaded with oaky vanilla and woody notes which is tough to distinguish from bourbon, significant roasted barley, a touch of chocolate, some citric hops, and some astringency. Flavor matches quite well with a nice full mouthfeel. The beer is pretty sharp, presumably from the hops, and has a strong lingering bitterness on the back end. Overall a godo beer, but I’m not quite sure how this is a top 50 beer. apshah99 (146), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 31, 2008 Black pour with nice tan head. Alcoholic and bitter aroma hinting at what is ahead. Tastes of roasted malt behind strong chocolate, coffee, with a little vanilla. The oak is in there. Mthoufeel is nice and thick and viscous. We tasted with along with a number of other stouts and people loved it. adamlangolf (21), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 29, 2008 A near perfect stout for me. Deep darkness in a glass. An amazingly rich aroma of oak, vanilla, subtle coffee/chocolate and a tinge of fire! This is my favorite stout of the year so far. I like it only a tad bit better then Expedition Stout by Bell’s. But this is amazing! FunkyBrewster (506), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 29, 2008 Pours oil black with a nice dark tan head that lingers around the edge of the glass. Aroma is very potent with some very strong bitter chocolate, molasses, roasted vanilla beans, wood and surprisingly, some hops make it through. Flavor starts out with a lot of oak, and I mean a lot! Very strong vanilla and a definite whiskey barrel sort of woodiness that comes in the finish. Some definite hops remain from start to finish along with some coffee bitterness. Sticky mouth feel and a medium-full body that is very creamy. Excellent beer but still very drinkable. I did pick up some alcohol but it was such complex flavors that it wasn’t too prevalent. Nice stuff.
