Pours black with dark khaki head, nose is roasted malt and chocolate, coupled with a slight fruitness that’s subtle in nature. Taste is roast and mild chocolate, dry and very bitter. No astringency. Slight oak and vanilla, good alcohol burn with very little alcohol flavor. Straight deliciousness. shanepardue (107), Raytown, Missouri, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 18, 2008 Pours a very dark brown/black with a creamy mocha colored head that lasts a while and then leaves a nice bit of lacing on the glass. Smells predominantly of Vanilla/Oakiness and chocolate with some roasted malts and coffee sneaking through. The taste didn’t quite live up to the smell in regards to complexity but it had a nice lingering hoppy finish that was quite unexpected. A nice mouthfeel but I like my RIS’s a little thicker and a little less carbonation. Overall, a great easily available RIS that I indulge in often. jonno (595), Brisbane, Australia

The only Imperial stout that comes close is the stone. This is rich, creamy, moreish and just improves sip by sip...enjoy! RaginCajun (284), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Aug 14, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a dark brown head. Lots of malt in the aroma with hints of coffee. The initial taste is wow! The nose is silky smooth w/ lots of malty sweetness. The powerful malt character melds perfectly with the hops. The bitterness builds as you drink more of this and as it warms. The interplay between the malts and hops at different temps is a nice effect. The beer has plenty of staying power on the palate. This is the way that big tasting beer should be as it nails the the big hops and the big malts and bundles it in a nice package. By far my favorite. paytoplay (135), , California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 13, 2008 Dark rich dense and intense. Everything you are looking for in an Imperial Stout. Not to mention Oak aged. Some wood and smoke are present, and the texture if really awesome. Worth seeking out. NomDeBeer (400), Maryland, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Updated: May 20, 2009Very sweet aroma of molasses and dark fruits. Pours silky black with a rocky tan head that lasts. Flavor of milk chocolate and vanilla, the combination of which creates a bit of coconut flavor. The finish and aftertaste are probably the best parst of this one -roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate and hoppy bite. Full-bodied with a velvety mouth feel. The alcohol is very well hidden. Damn good beer. A fresh bottle of this can be a bit overpowering for me. But a bottle that’s been cellared for one year is great.
