Commercial Description:
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

rustic red wine oak aroma, pitch black with a large tightly packed dark brown head, the oak hits right away like licking the inside of a barrel, then it mellows out into a desert like rich dark chocolate, a distinct burntness like tobacco lingers then a burst of hoppiness before a hint of sweetness and once again overpowering oak, mouthfeel is creamy yet assertive, overall I think it is an excellent beer yet the oak is perhaps overly prevalent

Mild lacing, minimal tan head, dark brown body. Roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee. The oak isn’t as powerful and the body wasn’t as full as I anticipated.

Pours pitch black with a decent tan head that quickly dissipates, leaving a nice lacing. Very well balanced complex aroma of cofffee, chocolat, toffee, nuts, roasted malt, fruits and some alcohol. Flavor is very bitter with some sweetness lingering along. Very nice complexity. Decent bitter long finish and good carbonation.

Bottle. Roasted chocolate/hop aroma. Deep dark body with sticky medium tan head. Flavor is filled with a roasted malt/chocolate flavor with hints of hops and a slight oak aged aftertaste. Very complex and well balanced, hides the alcohol well

Pours very dark, almost syrupy near black, small white head. Strong bitter flavor, unusual for stout, but that’s not a bad thing. Flavors of chocolate, carmel, and tons of oak. Finishes clean. Very good, complex beer.

Pours black with a thin tan head and some clings. Aromas of chocolate, oak and caramel. Tastes of coffee and chocolate with some bitter peppery hops and an oaky, bourbon finish.

This poured black and oil like. Mocha/toffee cream head, thick and frothy. The aroma was of chocolate soaked in brandy. Very sweet, a good malt backbone, nice roasted hints bringing out coffee tones spiked with milk. The oak really brought out many vanilla and caramel tones along with strong espresso, dark cocoa, ripe red plums and bruised pears. The mouthfeel was creamy, smooth. Very warming, a nice carbonation, yet seemed a little heavy. Creamy and chewy. This is one beautiful beer.
