Pours a semi-clear reddish amber brew with a thick off-white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, cotton candy, a touch of citrus zest, dark raisins and some toffee. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated, with flavors of semi-dry caramel malt, citrusy/pine hops, with a some dried dark fruits. Finish is slightly semi-dry, hoppy with a little oak caramel aftertaste that leaves behind some light mild bitterness character. An interesting barley wine but a bit more hoppy compared to most others I’ve tried. EricE (460), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

Pours a wonderful brownish red with a big, creamy yellowish head on top. Aroma is hoppy, nice fruitiness - both from hops and malt. Grapefruit, orange peel and raisins. Lightly vinious. Medium carbonation, wonderfully oily mouthfeel. Flavour is greatly sweet at first, lots of caramel, vinious, port, oakiness. Finish is nicely bitter with a clear dose of hops flavours. Pine and grapefruit dominate amongst the wonderful alcohol. turbothy (722), Bonn, Germany
