| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 12, 2005 Amber copper color, nice head, fairly retentive with mild lacing. Sweet grassy hops and caramel granola like malts. The flavor is smooth, creamy, lightly sweet but a mellow finish and moderate body to lend this an air of easy but quaffable drinking. A solid built amber around the style books but burries itself in this regard in my eyes. PhillyBeer2112 (2093), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 4, 2005 Better than average amber ale. Clearly their goal here is to produce a malt dominated beer without much hop character. Bready,. buttered scone malts dominate, with a hint of caramel and just a little bit of herbal hops. zach8270 (2138), Henrietta, New York, USA

Definite change from the Hotshot ESB and its massive carbonation. Slightly sweet and malty aroma with hints of nuts and some caramel. The taste begins with a sweet and nutty taste and goes to a semi-bitter and dry finish. Leaves a slight bitter aftertaste. A bit watery in the body. delmecum (87), Western Illinois, Illinois, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 31, 2005 This one poured all head (and I mean all head). Eventually poured a medium and cloudy amber with, as I’ve said, a huge, huge, huge head. Aromas of caramel and citrus. Tastes of the same. Body was on the thin side. Fish (439), Kure, Japan
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2005 Rarely does a beer meet one’s expectations as precisely as this beer met mine. Often I am disappointed by Amber Ales, the body will be too watery, without enough flavor. Not this beer. Great Divide, I am convinced, knows how to brew a flavorful, interesting beer. Then again, Amber is not a style which I am particularly fond of. And in that respect I was not surprised at all by this beer. I have never met an Amber Ale with enough hops. But this beer well makes up for the shortcomings of its style.
