Commercial Description:
A malty, copper-hued treat from start to finish, Ridgeline begins with a distinctive, estery aroma. Followed with a complex, nutty malt flavor true to its Scottish-style heritage, Ridgeline delivers unparalleled character and dimension. A touch of hops rounds out its silky, full body, highlighting Ridgeline’s subtle but engrossing character.

Light brown with a lingering thick head. Taste is close to medium bodied. Overall nothing that stands out, but decent enough for the style. Probably wouldn’t pick this up again, but it’s not horrible.

Poured the expected light brown with copper highlights and a fizzy white head that provided minimal lacing. The esters are noted in the aroma and some thin malt as well. The flavor was a bit of malt and some slight sourness. A true non-event. I have to stop buying these kinds of beers. Waste. Of. Time.

On the thin side of being medium bodied. WAY too much fresh nut and wood in the malt. Tastes un-ripened which gives is a strong tart finish without enough character to make up for the poor malt showing. Really a sham to call this a scotch ale.

I agree with biznizness: Why does every microbrewery think they must make an amber? Is there that much demand for them in a world where craft brew fans are mostly stouties, hopheads or fruities? Points to ponder. I had this on tap at the brewery last summer, and remember it being very average, with nothing that really stood out.

Please remind me, someday when I am a brewpub owner, that it really is not necessary to brew and bottle a pale ale, and esb, and an amber ale. I think some of that energy is better spent trying something more adventurous and creative.

Bottle, pours an light cloudy copper color, with a light tan head, that lasts nicely. An ok brew but a bit watery, moderate hops, not but, but nothing special.

This beer was a little disappointing, considering it is a Great Divide beer. It lacks the subtle sweetness that other ambers can deliver and sneaks in a bitter aftertaste.

Bottled. Golden with a huge, creamy, off-white head. Light toffee-aroma. Some apples and vegetables also present. Lightly burnt flavour; chocolate-toffee. A bit thin. Dry and bitter.
