Commercial Description:
Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

Bomber shared at the Butters’ 1500 tasting. Hazy bright golden pour with fair ring of white head. Nose of lemon, bread, banana, clove. Flavor is similar, but very yeasty, and lemony. Don’t really care for this one.

A newish addition to the GD lineup. Bottle from green’s. Has all the body and grassy, earthiness of a beer of this style. Really big carbonation gives you a nice texture. Mostly yeast aroma with some spice, pepper, and a little bit of citrus. Not much of this comes through to the flavor other than the pepper. The finish is hay and slightly bitter. Good but not earth shattering here.

Pour from a 22 is hazy pale yellow with a white head. Moderately slow to settle with some lacing. Smell is mostly of yeast, with some lemon and melon and a little coriander. Some aftertaste of anise. Taste is sour with a hint of sweetness and a bitter finish which lingers. Feel is moderate but not watery. Not complicated but good.

Faintly cloudy, big fluffy white head. Grainy, mildly spicy aroma. Flavor was sweet, maybe a little too sweet, really. Some spicy, clove-like notes, then an herbal note. Some winey notes, too. Bottled on 04/15/09.
