Commercial Description:
Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

Bottle from dilly Deli. Poured clear yellow color with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate fruit and yeasty aroma. Medium sweet spicy flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and soft carbonation. Good refreshing brew.

My Bottom Line:
Spicy, herbal hops combat starchy undertones while tight effervescence and cushiony cereals build this approachable Saison attempt.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the bright yet hazy yellow.
-The grain bill did not provide as much as I would have hoped.
-Doughy yeast and light citrus reach complexity.
-That vegetal, starch-like quirkiness is the main reason I did not fall in love with brew.

Bottled on April 15th.

In the bomber bottle from Beertopia. Pours a tallow-colored waxy gold with a nice medium white head that leaves good lacing. This has a musty earthy aroma with a tinge of lemons. The flavor is mild citrus with a great easy to drink yeastiness. This drank quickly and easily, A real delight due to its accessibility. Nothing extreme and haughty. Great beer.

22 oz bottle I picked up in Idaho and drank down at the dock on Lake Coeur d’Alene. Poured a hazy gold with a pretty thick white head. Aroma was bready, citrusy, light straw. Flavor was full of yeast, light spices and some very light citrusness. Very refreshing on a really hot day up north.

Tap @ TacoMac, Crabapple. Hazy golden color. Bright white head. Some floaties. Aroma of citrus, light orange. Lots of breadiness and straw. Flavor has a big doughiness, lots of straw and hay. Lingering bitterness in the finish with a hint of lemon.

Light golden pour with thick white head. Yeasty aroma of spices. Taste is sweet malt, bread, and lots of fruit. Tart, slightly bitter sinifh balances the sweetness. Very nice refreshing farmhouse ale, albeit a little simple.
