Commercial Description:
Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

22oz bomber served in a tulip. Lightly hazed golden pour with a thick head of fizzy off-white foam that slowly faded away. Spotty lace. The aroma had flowers, light honey, wheat, and light citrus. The flavor was light and crisp. Notes of lemony citrus, grass, and spicy yeast. Also some lightly toasted wheat. The yeast is fairly subdued. Light to medium-bodied. Brisk carbonation. I was hoping for a little more complexity. Simple and easy-drinking.

Pours clear deep gold with thin white head. The aroma is grainy, spicy yeast, a bit of lemon and a sort of sweet pear – apples combination. The taste is smooth with a dash of fresh grainy malts, spicy yeast and a bit of lemon acidity to round things out. To midway and onto the finish is sweeter notes of pears and apples that surface to add a bit of extra interest along with an estery sensation.

Color is a light yellow gold with a slight haze. Carbonation is good producing a big loose head. Aroma of spice and banana with a sour note. Taste is light, crisp and spicy. Starting with a lighter body it goes down with a crisp easy feel. Finish is a light sweet fruity taste with hints of banana and pear then a little yeast and coriander come in ending with a faint bitterness. After taste is dry with a mellow tart feel. This is a very good Saison very refreshing with light even flavors.

Bomber. Hazy light gold body with a dense bright white head. A lemon scented nose with some dandelions. There was also some earthy sweat character. Lemon drops at first, the taste gives way to some malty hay. Plenty of carbonation keeps the mouth feel lively. I am not getting much beyond the lemon drops, one dimensional and boring. Another recent let down from a normally good brewer.
