Commercial Description:
Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

22oz. bottle. Fruity, sweet aroma, lightly spicy with notes of honey, pear and orange, some tropical fruit in the background. Cloudy pale golden color with a foamy, lasting head. Malty, sweet flavor, floral and fruity as well with faintly spicy yeast, pepper, melon and coriander. Mild hops appear towards the finish. Somewhat sharp palate, thin and effervescent, body is medium. Not bad.

Pretty golden pour with foamy white head, nice to look at. Depth to smell ,but threre were a lott of sourish notes, green apples and tartness up front. There were some hidden cloved elements, some slightly oaked or woody flavors there. I liked the flavor a lot more than the aroma and felt that it was fairly easy to drink and was rather quenching as well. Nothing really stood out in a pretty standard example of the style.

Bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow & tupalev -- c/o tupalev. Pours a hazy dark yellow with an average size diminishing white head. Aroma is yeasty and spicy along with citrus fruit and grassy notes. Flavour’s also yeasty and spicy along with some hops and lemon. Medium bodied. Well done, this is really enjoyable and a little underrated in my opinion.

650 ml Bottle. Thanks to Dchmelas’ Super-Sixpack-Shipper. Wow! A very nice smack of instant flavor. Citrus, wheats, cherrys. Very refreshing! Enjoy!

22 oz bottle, capped and foil wrapped, purchased at Lukas in Overland Park, Kansas. Pour is cloudy hazy yellow orange with a pure white 1 1/2 inch head that falls with nice lacing. Some floaties are present, nice looking beer. Aroma of grainy wheat, spicy yeast and clove, some dusty honey. Very much a nose in the Dupont vein. Taste is bright with the clove spice right away, then the grainy earthy wheat taste behind that. Not as much complexity as the nose and a little harsh. Some citric lime citrus mixed in. Palate is medium, creamy mouthfeel, decent carbonation, finish is pretty clean, though there is a long yeast after taste that goes a little too much on the clove. Overall a nice effort.

Bottle in Duvel glass. Very pale hazy golden with lasting head and lace. Mild spicy lemon pastry aroma. Rather sweet apricot fruitiness with very mild spiciness and fruity sweet finish with very light tartness. Nice mouthfeel and nicely carbonated. Something missing. Finish is weak. Aroma is too mild. Neither spicy hoppy nor sufficiently funky. Refreshing.

bottle. had tap and all that good stuff. light yellow that gets a bit murky in the center and looks like it’s glowing. nice yeasty lemon and wheat banana esters that i enjoy. flavor is not too shabby but pales with the comforting aroma. wheat like with a lime citrus. a little too sweet for my tastes with the other stuff working in the background. dries out some in the finish. i really like the yeast character that pops up here and there, a twangy then a not quite meaty and something sulphourus, but this is just a bit bland otherwise and still too sweet, limeade with a nice booze in it. i like the booze, but want a better mixer. does that make sense to anyone but me? i want to know what yeast was used, cause i can see this making a great beer. 4 7 5 2 12

Thanks to fishingnet for the share. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is citrus burst, wheat, and a hint of funk, but not much of the peppery/ yeasty character I have come to expect from a Saison. Flavor is very citrusy with some malt and sweetness. Spicy, too, but again not much of the peppery/ funky qualities I have come to expect in a Saison.
