Commercial Description:
Looking for something a little different? Brewed with rice and barley malts, Samurai is an easy drinking, unfiltered ale that changes the status quo for unfiltered beers. The addition of rice gives Samurai a slightly fruity, crisp, refreshing and clean taste. This is definitely not your everyday unfiltered beer.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a lacing white head. Light citrus peel and rice corn aroma. Flavour is mellow yeasty with a light fruity note. Dominant yeasty really with a fizzy to creamy carbonation mouthfeel. Ends medium dry fruity and yeasty.

Had with some japanese food and this was pretty refreshing and crisp. Pour was cloudy and yellow with an average head and lacing. Aroma is of light grain, malt, and fruit. Taste is crisp and fresh with more light malt and grain. Mouthfeel is light. Beer would be great for summer outings.

This is a good summer beer def. A nice golden cloudy color with a good head and lacing. Smells of rice and fruity notes. The taste is like the smell. Sweet, fruity and a hint of rice.

Pours a sparkling straw-golden color with a white, creamy-fluffy, moderately full head; head is mostly lasting with some lace. Nose is simple but not unplesant with sweet malts and grainy notes of honeyed bread. Flavor is the same with a decent bitterness (for the style) bringing a slightly spicy note. Palate is lively to fizzy, moderate to light, clean, and crisp. Finishes short and a bit dry but still somewhat refreshing. The rice really does make it smoother and give a nice sweetness to the malts. Surprisingly a well balanced beer, but still a bit bland.

Aroma is hops and hops. Color is cloudy gold. Taste is unfocused between hops and citrus. Not bad, but different.

Oct. 2007 - Pale yellow, decent head, no lacing. Light aroma of malty. Flavor wasn’t bad, but a bit bland for my liking. Dreadfully dull, actually. The mouthfeel was nice and smooth. Nice for what it was trying to be, I guess.
