Commercial Description:
Looking for something a little different? Brewed with rice and barley malts, Samurai is an easy drinking, unfiltered ale that changes the status quo for unfiltered beers. The addition of rice gives Samurai a slightly fruity, crisp, refreshing and clean taste. This is definitely not your everyday unfiltered beer.

Had at some bar in New York (I might have had a couple by this time). Pours a hazy yellow like a wit with a white head. Well balanced and very drinkable but nothing that really stands out from this beer. Usually I am a huge fan of Great Divide so I was a little disappointed.

pours a very pale yellow with a small frothy white head. Aroma of yeast. A slight sweetness on initial taste. You can taste the rice on the finish. interesting concept.

Bottle at The Raleigh Times, Raleigh, NC. Somewhat muted nose of grassy hops. Lovely golden hue that allows the sun to shine through the clear yellow. Mouthfull is smooth, clean, and crisp with a slight fruity dryness in the finish. Very drinkable.

[1498-20080617] 355mL bottle. Crisp rice toast aroma has a bit of floral and old leaf characteristics. Hazy, light orange yellow body with quick foamy white bubbles. Toasted grains flavour has a funky old floral background. Medium body. Not great.

Bottle: Murky pale gold color with gobs of sticky lacing. The aroma is mild with hints of celery and pumpkin. There is something a bit tangy in there as well. The flavors are sweet and pleasant with a mild, bitter aftertaste. Pretty nice for a golden ale. I was surprised to see the rating was so low.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear gold color with two fingers of head. The aroma was very light malt and some light floral hops. The flavor was clean, but lacking. This is a decent summer beer, but it just doesn’t have enough taste.
