gotohelunc (473), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 14, 2008 Bottle. Just black, very minimal head. Extremely roasty nose and flavors. Burnt grains, a touch of coffee, and a super sticky sweet finish. I’d prefer a cleaner finish and maybe some more chocolate flavors, but not a bad beer at all. Decent enough session porter. GAManiac (1123), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 12, 2008 Pours a deep mahogany with a thin off-white head that showed decent retention and a hint of lacing. The aroma was nice on this beer with a really strong fresh ground coffee smell on top of the dark roasted malts. There is also chocolate hints in the nose as well. The taste let me down a little after the smell, with a slightly unpleasant bitterness that overpowers the underlying roasted malt and coffee tastes. The mouthfeel is decent and fairly dry with the aforementioned bitterness. This one smelled great and tasted OK. Not one of my favorites from Great Divide. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA Sep 8, 2008 Bottle from Bottle Trek. I was a little disappointed with it. Smelled stongly of chocolate and coffee, but the flavors were muted. It was still a great beer, I may have gone into it with high expectations. timfoolery (482), California, USA Sep 5, 2008 I don’t know about Robust, but this one was good. Good palate and appearance. Decent. dwaggs2 (531), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a creamy head. Aroma is caramel, choclate, coffee, and malt. Taste is much of the same. Finish is smoother. Very nice feel on the palate. Drinkable decent beer. Swolf3 (252), Elkton, Maryland, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with small to no head. Aroma is malty and chocolate. The chocolate taste balances out the taste very well. The after taste is a bit bitter. A nice porter, would buy again. bullishjim (5), Rochester, New York, USA does not count Aug 26, 2008 Pours dark brown with generous light brown head. Nice chocolatey aroma. Smooth but at the same time packing a bitter coffee kick. An enjoyable porter. stankenk (130), Maplewood, Minnesota, USA Aug 26, 2008 Pours a deep brown with minimal head. The nose is roasted chocolate malt, with hints of caramel & coffee. Comes across the palate rather weak in flavor. Mild chocolate, mild coffee, and just a note of caramel. Has a lingering faint chocolate after taste.
