Aug 5, 2008 12 oz bottle in English Pint. Vigorous Pour results in a dark brown/red with a massive tan head. High malt aroma, with hints of chocolate. Flavor is in accordance with the commercial description (chocolate and coffee), but a bit overly hopped and bitter for what I like in a Porter. Palate is creamy smooth, but finishes much too dry for my tastes. Overall a decent Porter, but not as good as I hoped.

Aug 4, 2008 Pours a reddish brown with a thick tan head, a real gusher. Harsh acidic grain aroma, unpleasant. Sweet malt, roasty taste. Kind of unbalanced and may have to rerate, this bottle may not be good.

Aug 1, 2008 bottle thanks to metzlers in denton tx. poured black with a brown head. aroma was pleasant with chocolate, malt, and coffee. flavor was chocolate, coffee, with some hop bitterness. this had medium carbonation. not bad but not great.

Jul 26, 2008 pours a thin black/dark brown with a small head, ok lacing. aroma of coffee, some very minor sweetness, nothing earth shattering. Palate is very weak, flavor is coffee with not much else- good, but considering others that great divide offers, somewhat disappointing. still a good beer to drink though.

Jul 21, 2008 12oz bottle served in an English pint glass. Pours deep brown with a thin tan head. Smells of cocoa powder and coffee. Rich roasted character with a lot of coffee character. Smooth with slightly noticeable carbonation. A pretty good porter.

Pours a nice black color with a medium to short lived beige head. Smell is roasty, a bit of coffee and some light cardboard like malt. Taste is lighty bitter and nicely roasty but a bit of stale-ish cardboard like flavor in there too. Medium to very slightly full body and normal carbonation. Overall, very drinkable and a decent porter with a nice roasty bitter finish.
